We have a Windows ME machine that we installed Windows 2K professional on - both installed on the C-drive. We are now getting an error message on ME -
Failed to Load Resource c:\program files\common files\system\OLEDB\OLEDB32A.dll

I am eventually able to click the message box enough times for it to go away but I guess as ME is doing things behind the scenes, it reappears regularly. One thought we had was that Win2K wrote over something in ME but we're not sure...

Has anyone run across this or any suggestions?

Thanks

Installing 2 versions of windows in same partition is asking for trouble. Should always be on separate partitions/drives (eg, both ME and 2k will be using c:\program files\common files\system\OLE DB - but their registries will have separate views of what's there. Installating an application in one may well upset what's in use by the other).

I initially installed w2k as a dual boot on the same drive as ME and eventually had to reinstall w2k on its own partition. Everything has been working fine since the reinstall. Additionally, created another partition for w2k based appplication software. In theory, with software like Norton Ghost, it is supposed to be possible to fix operating system crashes without having to reinstall the OS and each application from scratch. Partition Magic was a very useful utility. Good luck.
