hello, i have a question that is driving me mad. I am the system admin at my company and i setup a windows 2003 sharepoint portal server on a windows 2003 server. when users browse to the top level of portal they get access without a username and password. this is great that is what i want it to do. at home i have my own domain and again i set up sharepoint portal server 2003 on a windows 2003 server. BUT this time when users browse to the top level of the portal it always asks for a username and password. i would like to it to be the same way as at my job. i think i checked all my settings and they seem the same on both my servers. i have added the NT Authority\Authenticated users to the readers group. i have enabled windows integrated login to both IIS servers. i'm not sure what else to check.

any ideas??

thanks
Mike

i think there are a lot of different little things that could cause this. is the sharepoint server a part of the domain? were all the user profiles imported into sharepoint? i'm just guessing.
