What is the name of the file which stores the information of how the folders/files in a window are viewed? (Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, etc.)

At work, after using CCleaner, the window view setting reverts to Tiles. At home it does not affect the setting. Both machines are WinXP Pro SP2.

Are you saying you can't go to view on the toolbar and change your settings back?

No! I can change them back no problem. It's just a PITA to have to do so everytime I reboot. I have CCleaner set to run every startup.

These might give you a few clues, but you might be better off to remove CCleaner and look at some other software.

XP forgets your folder view settings?

You can also try this fix to see if it will hold your settings.

Do you have SP2 at home but not at work, or vice versa?
SP2 increases the number of remembered views.

Thanks for the links & both machines are XP Pro with SP2.

Actually, I found the problem just a half hour ago. I thought I had all the same settings in CCleaner, both at home & work, but I had missed unchecking the Custom Files & Folders option in the advanced section.

Everything is OK now. Thanks for your help.

[cheers]
