After a reboot the system is ok for about and hour then the whole process repeats itself.

From help it appears to be hardware (memory or graphics card). Has anybody had a similar error or could tell me what is wrong and how to solve it?

Hardware config is:
ASUS P4C800 DLX
1024 PC400 mem
128mb nvidia FX5600
240GB SATA Drive in raid config

Would really appreciate help here!

Have same problem, with same system error notification. That is first happend when i traying install my USB motorola 4200 cable modem driver (step- communicating with modem) after fresh WinXP instalation. I resolve this with substitute memory in different memory bank, that happend again but rare.

configuration:
AMD barton 2800+
MSI K7N2 delta-L nforce2 motherboard
MSI FX5600 256DDR
512DDR work in single mode

WTF happend
please mail me to zampe@net.hr

peniza's advice sounds good to me. The newsgroups have little on this issue, but one response may be relevant: "Are you using the 50.xx series of leaked drivers on this card ?"

I suspect that using the WHQL or thge latest "official" driver set for your video card, even if unsigned, would resolve the issue.

Having the same problem with WinXP Home SP1...I've installed the new WHQL (52.16_win2kxp_international_whql) but no way...while I'm' playing games like Max Payne 2 or NBA Live 2K3 (but not only), my pc reboots without any error notification or messages...can't find any explanation...can someone help me?

Running with:
Win XP Home SP1
Athlon XP 2000+
Maxtor 80 Gb HD
512 Mb DDR Ram
Nvidia GeForce4 MX440
Sound Blaster Live 5.1

Thx in advance....

Roberto

Robyprog,

. Service Pack 1 installed?
. Upgraded to DirectX 9.0b from the MS update site?

1. Start, Run, Dxdiag. See if you get a clean run.
2. Is there any detail in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer?

3. Download and let run overnight a good memory tester.

Some excellent freeware choices:

All what is in my power i traying:
-Flash BIOS to new version
-upgrade nForce motherboard driver
-flash VGA BIOS to new version
-setup new WHQL Forceware 5303 graphic card driver

also have:
-Service pack 1a
-all hot (and security) WinXP updates
-DirectX 9.0b

But for one thing im sure, problem starts with unsucessfull instalation of cable modem driver. He is removed from system (but not in all), look at this, what my MSI WMIinfo displayed:

Name : Motorola SurfBoard 4200 USB Cable Modem
Product Name : Motorola SurfBoard 4200 USB Cable Modem
Display Availability : Running/Full Power
PowerManagement Supported : false

From microsoft support centre i recived tip, that kind of error is in relation with new Device driver instalation

There is absolutely no reason to install a "driver" for the cable modem.

I have some resons, like Americas Army Operations game work with that kind of cable modem (Motorola 4200) only if modem is connected (installated) to USB.
Network card freezes when player tray connect to game server.
But this is not theme for this topic

Thx bcastner! I've tried to download the progs from the links you gave but no way..I'lltry to find out something else. I'm running with Directx 9a, but got to check to be sure. In the event viewer I got this message (italian version):

Thanks again for your help!

Hi bcastner,

I ran the memory tester but no error was found. Now I'll try with another video card hoping to solve the problem. Thx again for your aid.

Bye, Robyprog
