I am building a new computer (ASUS A7V133- motherboard, 1.4Ghz AMD thunderbird CPU & 512 MB RAM) I have a 20 GB WD hard drive in 2 equal partitions. I have the C: drive active, formated and CABS copied.

The system boots to floppy and loads the virtual HHD, but when I go to the CD-ROM and type SETUP, I get an error saying the program needs windows to install. Which is what I am TRYING TO DO.

I work primarily with WIN95. That boot disk not only loads the CD-ROM drivers but the setup files in order to load windows.

What am I doing wrong, or missing. Can I boot to the WIN95 disk and load Win98SE? [sadeyes]

I'm not sure but it sounds like an upgrade and not a full version. If that's the case you will need Windows 95 first then the Windows 98se CD. ggebhart@clover.net
I hope I never get too old or arrogant to learn something new!

If that doesn't work then try going to the WIN98 sub-directory and running setup from there.

The CD that you have is that a bootable CD and if it is then the boot order should be 1) Cdrom 2) Floppy 3) Hard drive. Then if you put the disk in it will boot to it and run the setup.
