I heard it's somehow possible to run .NET Framework and VB.NET under Windows'98. I heard, it's done without Visual Studio .NET (that only works in Win2000 and up), but through command line. Could you tell me what I need to download and what I need to (re)configure in order to be able to do that?

I just want to see a few sanmples in VB.NET, so I don't feel like reinstalling the whole damn OS in order to play around with a couple program snippets...

Big thanks in advance! ---

OK, NP. Are you going to try both of them? Read the bugs or the FAQs, whatever it is on the first link. They mention something about that it worked for 98, then they added something so it doesn't, then they have it working again.

- got it all working without any problems in less than an hour!

The only problem was that I initially tried to install SharpDevelop before installing .NET Framework and then installation failed with the message:

"A required .DLL file, MSCOREE.DLL, was not found."

Then I uninstalled #Develop and run the setup for .NET Framework instead, and everything worked out as planned.

Thanks again!
