I have installed 1GB of RAM and machine locks up I tried a patch to the system.ini file. (Patch Used)Add the following line in the [386Enh] section of the file
MaxPhysPage=30000 the results were not favorable, system boots but is very unstable and locks up requiring a reboot. As time went on system would not boot at all. I have changed the system.ini file back to its original state and I am currently running with 512 RAM. Any corrective measure
taht actually works would be of interest to me.

ARB77,

This is a known limitation that Microsoft has come out and admitted. Some systems can run over 512MB of RAM, but the chances are slim and depend on your hardware configuration. Even if your hardware supports it, there isn't a software patch you can install to get you around this. It either works or doesn't work. In most cases, it won't benefit you anyway since Win9x/ME systems can't play with more than a couple hundred megs at a time...upgrade to NT/2000/XP if you really need that much RAM.
