Thanks electronicsfreak and edfair for your interest. Here is a fuller report for your info.
The problem has been there for months. I just ran the Symantec removal tool for LoveGate (that contains the TkBellExe reference) and it found nothing. My Norton AntiVirus is up-to-date and the last complete scan was two days ago and clean.
The problem -- if it is a problem -- is that 3 registry values keep re-appearing after having been detected and removed by the jv16 Registry Cleaner. I tried removing them manually via Microsoft's own regedit, but to no avail. Here are the 3 values:
VALUE NAME : TkBellExe
VALUE : "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
VALUE NAME : seticlient
VALUE : C:\Program Files\SETI@home\SETI@home.exe -min
VALUE NAME : Local Page
VALUE : C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm
The first two items are the debris of unistalled programs REAL PLAYER and SETI@HOME.
All three are considered "high severity" items by jv16 Registry Cleaner that describes the error in all 3 cases as "File or directory..does not exist", which is true.
Over to you!
