I am getting a msg when trying to load a video viewer called divx. The Error msg I am getting is "The THEPLAYA.EXE file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL: DirectDrawCreateEx."
Does anyone have a way to find out what the problem is? Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance

I had that message with a game. I downloaded the latest DirectX and then the game played fine. So, you could try that.

I tried that from Windowupdate site & it gave me the same error. I even tried to delete the currant version of direct X & I still get the same msg. I also tried cnet to down load it & also the same msg. I think I am going to attempt to remove All media player software & then try to down load again for lack of anything else to try at this point. Thanks for the info. ANy other info would be appreciated! Thanks! :)

Just a thought, I don’t really know what I am talking about here, but have you tried searching for DDRAW.DLL on the net, and putting it in your \windows\system directory?

Yes I have also tried that! no good attempting this either! I am going to go thru the registry next & see if I can find a program thats calling this or something. The other option I am going to try is forcing a load off CD ROM rather than down load maybe an old version 1st. I am going to cross my fingers with this poke in the dark. Thanks for the input!
