Hello everyone,

I have a Windows 95 computer with 64MB RAM 233 MHZ Pentium MMX processor and 3.01 GIG hard drive. This computer is freezing every 20 minutes or so. I have ran scandisk, defragmentation, and deleted temporary files. In addition to that I have confirmed the Norton has updated definition files and ran a thorough disk for Viruses. And, still no positive response. Any suggestions?

If you have MS office installed check for findfast by dpoing ctrl+alt+del.
disable it by removing it from startmenu|programs|startup this has caused me more grief than I ever needed and by removing it everything returns to normal. If you don't have it, check your ram and processor are seated correctly and replace the ram if needed to check that its not failing. ***************************************
Party on, dudes!

Do you get any error messages or does your system just "freeze"? Check your cooling fan and make sure its working. Make sure the fan is not blocked or plugged up with dust. If you feel comfortable opening up your PC, check the cooling fan on the CPU if it has one. Make sure that it works. You may just have a big heatsink on the processor and no fan. Also, make sure all slot covers are in place and if any are missing, replace them. If any bezel covers are missing from unused drive bays, replace those also. These suggestions should eliminate any heating problems.
