Aloha 6.4 is the current version release and 6.5 and 6.6 are in controlled deployment.
Aloha, unlike some other POS product is tied closely to the OS. This has been a blessing and a curse.
For example, unannounced changed in IE7 way back when effective Aloha EDC, and thus an Aloha system had to stay on IE6. That has since moved on.
Aloha communications is still based on Netbeui and Datagrams, which is considered a legacy network protocol.
Radiant hasn't said much about Windows 7 as of yet.
If history is any guide, it will be 2 years before we start seeing Aloha on Windows 7. There is the option to purchase the XP Compatability Add-On avilable for Windows 7 Business Premium users only, but that simply makes the OS Cost that much more.
Sellers tend to gravitate to the OS that works best with a particular POS Software. Remember, it wasn't until XP SP2 that many Radiant resellers started having any confidence and started using XP. Same thing with Windows 2003 Server.
The POS industry tends to not be early or immediate adopters of new OS's.
