Just got one of these and when trying to open attachments within OWA, the only option is to compress the files as zip, save, then extract and open. This is kinda silly. The files are TINY (one is 11kb). I don't have this issue on my vista with OWA.

Is this a setting I can turn off?

Since OWA is web based you do need to save them down to your computer first. Not sure where the Zipping part is coming in

If ts OWA that's automatically zipping them prior to downloading them, then that would be a server setting by the Administrators of the server running the OWA and not something related to your Windows 7.

What kind of files are they?

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

These are simple excel and word files. Found out that since it's IE 8, I had to add the OWA URL into the trusted site, so now the zip part is gone.

One other very annoying thing on these minis with Windows 7 is many windows have the bottoms cutoff so you can see OK, save and cancel. Very annoying. I have to tab and "guess" where the button is. It's set to 1024 res.

My Samsung Netbook has a 1024 x 800 display and I don't have a problem with cut off. What resolution does the HP mini have: 1024 x ?

Strange. Please give me an example of which dialogs or Windows are opening too large.

For example, internet options, added a trusted site, then couldn't see the Okay at the bottom. I guessed that after it tabbed off the window, that it hit the Okay and I clicked Enter.

Installed OpenOffice and during the registration window. Some windows if I move the taskbar up to the side, I can see full windows, but most of the times I can't.

That would be most annoying. I'm unable to test that is the same here because I use Firefox which I much prefer to IE8. I wonder if FireFox would work better with OWA on your Mini.

Is that the native resolution of the mini?

I've seen posts that it's 1024 x 600 or 1024x576

or

1280 x 768.

Check what's correct for your screen and don't just the old 4to3 ratios...

We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

It's not just browing we have issues with. It's the same in almost every windows window (the okay and cancels are almost always off the screen). I'll mess with the display ratios.

Check the display resolution. I have a feeling that the screen is really 1024x600 and that 1024 x 800 is a 'Virtual Desktop' option.

I have the same option on my Samsung too, but I actually run at 1024 x 600 (I made an error in my previous post). That should sort the dialog/window problem.
