Windows 3.1 > XP

I am trying to run a old program that being used on a Windows 3.1 computer to retrieve some data from it. When I run the batch file the following message appears:

Please arrange for ANSI.SYS to be loaded from your
CONFIG.SYS file

Any retro users out there know how to run something that was on Windows 3.1 onto Windows XP?! Something to do with sysedit maybe?

I would think you could then launch your 3.1 app from the same command window.
