Whether it be XP or 2K NONE run correctly on my system!!! XP Pro and Win 2000 Pro reboot randomly and nothing I do fixes this problem.

At least Linux still runs great!! YEA FOR LINUX!!!

For anyone who might know what is happening here are the specs, MSI K7 Master m/b, MB Crucial DDR RAM, Sound Blaster Live! card, D-Link ethernet card, GeForce 2 MX 400 video card. For whatever reason Windows cannot handle this specific configuration and I do not know why. Please help!!

Ok, sorry about the short post, but i wanted to post before my computer rebooted. now i am using a different computer altogether. anyhow, win2k pro or xp pro reboot anytime they wish, whether online, listening to music, simply typing a paper or doing nothing. I tried win me and it gives a BSOD wherever 2K or XP would reboot.

I have tried everything from changing hardware config to memtest under linux and nothing seems to help. As I said, the system runs excellent under Linux.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
-M

Hmmm, this may have something to do with it, here is a post at the MS KB number Q174630

It seems obvious to me that if XP, 2000, AND WinME all reboot on ya - its your hardware setup, drivers, and/or power management settings.

Is there anything in the event viewer relating to the issue?
