Horrible!...

I was setting up a laptop for file sharing for a client. I had a User Name, Password and a domain. I changed the domain to WORKGROUPS by typing it in. Big mistake. Now I can't login with my password. I can't get to the domain or anything. I have tons of data for a client on there. How can I bypass the login? Please Help....it's not as thought password is forgotten, I think the domain was deleted.

Have you tried logging onto the local machine instead of a domain, using the local machine administrator user/password and then changing to the correct domain

I can't choose a domain, there is no place to enter this, even if I choose "options". This computer just has one password and one user, basically.

Your username/password is for a domain user. You removed machine from doamin, so its no longer valid on the machine. You need a local username/password. Whoever set up laptop originally should know (or try Administrator with no password - often works as person setting up doesn't always set password). Or look here faq96-2866.

Once logged in locally, you can reconnect machine to doamin (if you wish) - you'll need a domain account with right privilege to do this.

check the following thread, its very usefull
