Has anyone else had problems with printing to an HP Laserjet 4000 out of an Access 97 database using a Win 2k machine?

We have an HP 4000 on a jetDirect card on an NT 4.0 network. We recently upgraded a few of our workstations to Win 2k pro. The users will randomly get the error:

MSACCESS.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.

This error occurs either when the user trys to print from Access 97 or preview a report in Access 97.

The problems are only with printing/previewing in Access. It happens on 3 different Win2k machines with different specs, hardware, etc. (one is a laptop).

I've tried installing/reinstalling new printer drivers. No luck. The machines have SP2 installed, with all the latest windows updates. I've tried printing to a HP Laserjet 4L which is also on our network, and I get similar errors.

What is frustrating is that the error occurs at different times and sometimes not at all. Sometimes it occurs before the report prints, sometimes after.

Any advice/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion Cirrus, but when I installed Access sp2, I just had more problems, including fatal errors and, at one point, I had to use the recovery utility on the Win 2k CD because my machine wouldn't boot. Mike Rohde
