Windows 2003 Server

I just installed win2k3 server with AD. I have a laptop that I want to connect to the domain. I have added the user and computer to the AD users & cpus as Domain admin, and domain users (defaul). When I try logging on with the laptop, I get this: "The system cannot log you on now because the domain MILKYWAY is not available". Did I miss something. I have DNS installed, but not DHCP. I'm also new to 2003 server, but I'm very familiar with 2k server, and their not THAT different. Can anyone help? Thanks

I would look first at the DNS settings.

IPCONFIG

Network Icon TCP/IP properties.

Else try and join the laptop to the domain. What I mean is rename the laptop and try joining the domain from the laptop rather than the User and Computers.
