When I attempt to log onto the w2k domain, it takes about 15 minutes. The screen sits at "Loading your personal settings" for about 10 minutes, then "Applying your personal settings" for another 5 or so minutes. This only happens when I choose to log onto the domain. If I just log onto my computer, I don't have this problem. This is happening with all the users.

I had this same problem when loging into a windows 2000 server domain with an XP client. What you need to do is set the client computer's preferred DNS server to your own DNS server. I'm not sure what to do if you don't have a DNS server but you could always set one up. If you do decide to setup a DNS server, make sure that your DNS server forwards all unresolvable requests to your ISP's DNS servers.

Seems like this subject was covered in other posts. Here's one.

The problem was DNS related. The DNS server was pointing to the ISP since we use a VPN through our T1. I just made the primary DNS the w2k server, and designated the ISP address as the alternate DNS server. Now the login is quick and I can still access the Internet. Will I encounter any problems doing it this way instead of forwarding unresolved DNS through the server? That seems like a cumbersome way of doing it and listing the ISP address as the alternate DNS server seems to work just fine.

Never mind. The DNS server configuration was easy and works fine. Thanks for the help.
