loaded service pack one on windows 2000 professional after that several of my applications no longer worked. received the following error: procedure entry point _lc_collate could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll. Uninstalled the Service Pack and still got the errors. Couldn't use applications, uninstalled those applications and tried to reinstall still had same error and then got run time errors. Ended up reinstalling Windows 2000.... any suggestions as to why this happened... no more service packs for me on 2000 Professional.

SP1 seems to be either good or bad. I have downloaded it on several machines and have been lucky, no problems however a friend had a terrible time( only difference in equip is he has AMD processor). I would try again.
