I have this massive box, a quad xeon w/ 2GB ECC on it...
I have this wierd, unexplainable problem that a complete rebuild did not solve...
First off, this box is primarily an Internet services box... Xchange, RDP, IIS...
Secondly, it has a T-1 connection to the net...
Now, if no-one is currently working off the box (no RDP sessions, IIS sessions, Xchange, etc.) then the box times out when someone initially tries to sign on... This can be seen most easily by a web site being hosted on the site timing out. When you hit F5 to refresh, or retry to initiate a session, the box comes right up.
I optimized performance for background applications, checked my MTU settings, and numerous other things, but am coming up stumped.
Anyone have any ideas?
