windows 2000 server DAT tape backup - Restore to another server/pc

I have a Dat tape which has some data on it that I need to restore.

Unfortunately it was backed up using Microsoft Backup on a windows 2000 sbs server - which is now damaged and not repairable.

How can I restore the information to another server or pc ?

I was told that this could be done using Veritas Backup exec. Could anyone tell me how to do this
