Hi,
I am facing a different problem for 4 days.
I have two computers
1. running on windows NT
2. running on windows 2000.
both the computers are connected to the same DSL cable connection.since 6months i am able to work on internet on both the systems perfectly. but noe the problme is I am not able to access any websites that require a passowrd( for ex. mails in hotmail / yahoo / etc) from the second computer but able to browse other websites that dos't require any passwords( for ex: hotmail / yahoo / news etc )
if i give any wrong password, i am getting eror message as " Invalid password" but if i give correct password, i am geting error message as "Page not found"
the same is happening on both IE 6.0 and Netsacpe 7.1

I don't have any problem with the first system and i am able to work perfectly on the first system.
Any suggestions / tips to solve my problem....

Thanks for your prompt response.
My operating system is windows2000 , so the 3rd link in not appropriate for that.(Even I tried all the possible options discussed in that article, but no use).
I am not able to perform the Windows Update also. whwn ever i try to perform update, the browser is hanging.
The min problem why i am worried is when ever i give WRONG PWD , i am clearly getting message as " WRONG PWD" but problem with "CORRECT PWD".
The Problem is NOT with all the secure sites BUT MOST OF THE SITES thatarequire PWD.
I am able to login to tek-tips forum through my id without any problem.. but not with the case of mail ID"s and one more worst thing is In some sites i am able to login to the site, but not able to acess the links etc( Foe exampl, in yahoo i am able to login to the mail, bot not able to read mails, compose mails , or if i click any links on that page , getting arror as " Page cannot be displayed)

In I/E, try going to Tools > Internet Options > Content > Auto Complete and check the option to Clear Forms and Clear Passwords.

Also clear the cache just to be on the safe side. Hope that helps.

One more important point, the problem is with both IE6.0 and Netscape7.1

I think in Netscape, there is an option that retains passwords also. I know that Netscape tends to import settings from I/E so maybe it imported the stored password files. Did you even try what I suggested? I had this same problem with one user in my office regarding a particular website and clearing the password fixed it.

Hi all,
I can confidently say that my problem is not with the browsers and the web sites.
I am facing the problem with both IE and Netscape.
And another interesting thing is i am able to browse my bank accounts and some other secure sites with out any problme but not the case with majority websites.

I tried all the available links for windows update but no use.
