I have a test domain that has a windows 2000 server as the PDC and a NT 4.0 as a BDC, with a NT wrksta, xp pro, 2000 wrksta. All but the 2k wrksta can get on the domain.

I have changed the name of the computer several times and it works on the first login only. When I log out it loses the domain. When I am logged on it will not let me get to the shares on any of the computers in the domain.

I am constantly getting the error message that the domain controller can not be found.

How do I keep the computer from losing the domain?

Stop changing the computer name.

It sounds as if you do not have a machine registration for that workstation.

Check to that the only DNS entry under TCP/IP properties points to the Win2k Server.
