I have two laptops, both are windows 2000 pro machines. One of the laptops is on a domain, and the other is in a workgroup. I have connected the two with an ethernet crossover cable, and I can ping between the two machines, just fine, but I am unable to browse to them in the network browser. When I go into the browser I am unable to see the workgroup from the domain machine, and I am unable to see the domain from the workgroup machine. NT 4 seemed to be able to do this sort of thing just find, so I imagine there is some sort of setting in NT4 that has by default changed in Windows 2000. Anyone have any idea what this problem might be ?

actually.. it showes the security is working correctly :) Get something like netswitcher and setup one or both in the workgroup. Netswitcher will let you preconfigure the network settings and load them on the fly.
