windows 2000 memory.dmp DEFRAG 1

Hello:
When I defrag my Hard drive (on a laptop) the reports tells me it cannot defrag memory.dmp (which is quite large 511mb) and outlook1.pst. FIRST how can I remove, change, defrag the dmp file and how can I defrag the outlook file. I have outlook on other machines with out these problems.

Use Contig by Sysinternals (freeware):

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Contig.html

You can delete (hold down the shift key to prevent moving it to the recycle bin) the file memory.dmp

Thank you for the tip on sofware I am always looking for good software. BUT the really weird part of all this is when I look for the DMP file I cannot find it???
