I have 2 windows 2000 domain controllers and approximately 250 workstations.
There is a logon script in the netlogon share and it is replicated ok between the servers.
90% of the time there is no problem but occasionally, the script does not run. On checking the system log on the workstations, the login script could not be run as access denied.
I am thinking perhaps this occurs when 2 people try to run run the script at the same time, one cannot access it as the file is momentarily locked by the other user.
Anyone come accross this before? It is very annoying as the script is used to map printers by location.

Thanks for any help..

Still can't get to the bottom of this one.

Does anyone have any ideas?

when the user gets the access denied message, does it work if they try again?

how are you running the logon script? from UMD or from autoexec?
