I have a PC running w2k, Today just after loading Nero Immagedrive software will now not boot properly in regular mode, when it gets to the logon screen it auto shuts down and does a hard reboot. However in safe mode this does not happen, it will stay "up" any clues please ?

Nero runs as a Service in most cases. Start the PC in safe mode, "disable" Nero and the PC should restart normally. If it does, remove the nero software and re-install.

Visit the Nero website and look at their FAQs...the solution will probably emerge, if there is one. (other than simply uninstalling)

I have been using 2kpro for about a year now and have found many things to do to ease the startup. You will be better off taking everything you possible can out of your startup, as 2k is slow to start anyway. If you do not have the program in your system to change the startup menu, goto and download his startup control panel 2.7, this will give you full access to the startup. Also, i would suggest also loading his startup monitor, which is a very small program that runs in the background and alerts you when a program is trying to get into your start menu. Both programs are small and very effective. You might also try downloading clonecd4 for burning applications. Good luck. Mutt

Nero was running fine , i installed imagedrive.exe ( as supplied, a standalone program with Nero ) and upon the reboot the problem started, i have uninstalled the imagedrive.exe standalone and it doesn't make any difference
i can't get the startup monitor to load as it will not work in Safe mode. this just gets more & more frustrating. , the PC just gets to the logon screen for about 2 seconds then reboots. any more ideas / suggestions will be greatly rec'd
