How can I get a window/form to keep the same size that I save it as? Per help, I have sized it in form view without going into design view, and saved it. But if I open a form that is maximized, then open the smaller sized form, it too opens maximized. Help says that when you maximize a window in Access, all other windows will be maximized when opened or switch to them, unless they are a pop up form. A popup form stays on top and won't work for me.
Several of my forms are maximized when opened and then smaller forms will be opened according to which button is pressed on the maximized form.
It's very annoying!
jgarnick
jgarnick@aol.com

Access has several quirks you just found one of them.
To save the form to the correct size, you must open the form properly (not in design view), then resize it to the desired size, and save it. (You must make sure the Standard toolbar is visible, and just click on the save button). This is tricky because saving at design time does absolutely nothing..

you could also jsut resize your main form (the one you want maximized) to fit the entire screen, and remove the min/max buttons from all forms so that they cannot be resized by the end-user. with the main screen fitting the entire screen in it's normal state, the secondary window can be opened, and saved at the size you desire.
Brian Famous
bfamous@ncdoi.net

Thanks for everyone's help---
Jacobl--if you re-read my question, I said that I did not open it in design view--I did exactly what you said (and Help says), but it still does not work--DougP hit the nail on the head!

I always open a form that I want maximixed with a docmd.Maximize then I use the docmd.Restore in the on close event. This will keep the other forms from being maximized. It has worked for me every time.

Hope this helps
