Please help...

I am trying to set-up a windows media server using win2k server. The goal is to provide on-demand unicast content to Windows Media Player - only it isn't working as expected.

I have an .asx file pointing to a playlist of .asf files.. when I select the .asf files directly, they play instantaneously.. however, when I select the url of the asx file using the MMS:// protocol the media player decides to buffer the entire 100Mb+ file before playing (ARRGHHH!). This is all going over a LAN so should be easy for the Media Services to stream the data continuously.

Apologies if this is not the right forum.. but it is the closest on this web site,,... if you know what the problem is or where I could find the answer please let me know.

Many Thanks
Damian
