Hi people

My win98 partition (which has a 200 partition on top of it) has never gieven me a probelm beofre. Now it wont boot unless in safe mode and the bootlog shows lots of fonts failed to load.

How can I fix this problem and QUICK prefereably without having to do a reinstall.

Thanks in advance oh clever people

I am pretty sure that almost all bootlogs will reveal a failed font loading or two.

This cannot be your problem.

Provide more particulars.

If you have Win98 SE, you can do an overlay install. You won't lose any files or program links.

I have had same problem with a few 98 machines, reload does not work,, I have had to delete the windows directory then reload , to at least save old programs data, but still have to reinstall programs... and the boot log error is correct with errors on loading all fonts

Fonts are NOT your problem. You have something else causing you to "not load". But here's a tip: go into your "fonts" folder...deleye EVERYTHING that doesn't have the same date as your OS. You don't use them anyway.

You can do a step by step boot and see where it stops. It is usually NOT the last thing you see on the screen it is usually the next thing it is trying to load.
