The message box appears just after the win98 splash. I just press OK & cary on - no harm done, but a pain in the a*@*. I have never used Corel Draw, so I assume it's a Control Panel Link. Can I stop startup looking for the file (if so, how?) or should I download the offending file (if so, where?)
best wishes

You can use MSCONFIG and check to see what is trying to start. If it is a corel program then just un check it and restart your PC.
to run msconfig click start / run / then type msconfig

Hi cit172

Are you sure it's a corel draw file?

If you have a sound card called (I think) Sound Fusion, then very likely there is a file called cwcprops.cpl present in your system.

Do what FlashTag has suggest, run MSCONFIG and under the StartUp tab and disable the offending file.

Good luck

Thanks very much, LSTAN :)
You hit the proverbial on the whossname.
I re-installed the driver for the soundcard (a Crystal/Genius Soundmaker SM32) & lo and behold, there was the offending file!!
Thanks also to everyone else who read/replied
