Dear all,

I have Windows98, and an Agfa 1212P scanner, I use Agfa'a 'photolook' software, and been working fine for 2 yrs. However last two months, when I try and scan in color(RGB), I get.......'Colorlink authorization failed', it scans fine in grayscale and lineart.

I've tried deleting, and reinstalling it, but to no avail. I've also added no new peripherals during this time.
Agfa's home page was not helpful,

I would be grateful for any help??

Thanks

Joe:)

Joe,

My first thoughts would be along the same lines as you. Reinstall the software. But since you did that and it did not correct the problem I would then move on to the hardware (scanner). I dont think this is a Windows issue but strictly a hardware\software issue. Your best bet would be to contact customer support at Agfa and see what they have to say.

Hmmm...did you remove the software using the add\remove programs icon in the control panel? If not try using that so it removes the registry entrys then reinstall it.

Thanks,

I did uninstall it from Add/remove programs.
I've just spoken to Agfa, and they think it has something to do with monitor color profiles?, they've suggested adding 'virtual monitor agfa', I've had custom profiles for some time, but can't say I've seen that one,...but I'll be a good boy..and add it to see.

Thanks

Any other ideas would be helpful

Joe:)
