If I configure my Novell Client to work with IPX only, wich is disadvantage?

IPX is a "chatty" protocol with smaller packet size. However, in some legacy apps, it is your only choice unless you have the server set to encapsulate IPX inside IP.

I've found IPX to be a very good LAN protocol. It's easy to configure and fast for *local* networks. If you don't need IP, it'll probably be faster unless you have a huge segment. If you're routing, especially with a WAN, you're probably better off with IP. If you need IP anyway, say for Internet or Intranet access, then I'd avoid IPX and install IP by itself.

I am running both IPX and IP and have no problems. But, then, I'm supporting only 60 users. Don't forget that IPX is routable.
