Hello,
I have windows 95 on this computer and have never had sound, now I have new speakers but i still don't know how to get sound.... what do i have to do to get sound,
thanks
eric
peace out

Do you have a sound card? If you do, you'll have a jack on the back of your PC to plug the speakers in. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [idea]

i have a jack and i plugged it in... but it still doesn't do anything, but i noticed im missing a little speaker symbol in the bottom-right corner of my screen

Go to Control Panel, Multimedia and check the box "Show Volume Control In Taskbar". Then double click on the little speaker and make sure the sound is turned up. Make sure that jack you plugged into is a speaker jack. Make sure your power is applied to the speakers and they are on and turned up. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [idea]

Does device manager indicate that the sound card/chipset has drivers installed and working?
It is also possible that the CMOS has the sound turned off.
The hardware has to be enabled before the sound will work and then the drivers need to be loaded. Ed Fair
