That is, Win32 will be in maintenance mode, and all new development will occur with WinFX managed APIs" -Paul Thurrott ( of Super Windows site )

Does this mean:
o the Win32 API will not be available Longhorn onwards
o it will continue to be available, but only bugs will be fixed - no new features but (a) deprecated (b) not deprecated

I would worry about it two or three releases after Longhorn.

Assuming Longhorn makes a dent in the market, that is. From what I've read, it'll require everyone to buy new peta-hertz processors with a terabyte of RAM.

Well four years gives Moore's Law and related effects to do their magic too I suppose.

I take it longhorn is the new windows operating system in development?
Whats going to be oh so different to the current operating systems or is this still very much a beta program with little to no released details?
Sorry for my dumbness
