Hi All,

I'm trying to install Win2000pro onto a scsi drive. To start I low level formated the drive and ran the install from the cd rom. On the first attempt I got a blue screen after all setup files was loaded and the install was going into the network setup part of the install. I let it reboot and it said restarting windows setup then went into a blue screen. I did a LLF again and launched install again from the cd. This time after NTFS formating was complete and the install files were being loaded I got the following error message::

The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corrupted or missing:

Value 0 on line 3771 in section [SourceDiskFiles]

Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3

What I'm getting from the message is that there is a problem with the CD...!

Anyone, Anyone

Thanks All,
gene

Did you install scsi drivers at the very beginning of setup? You have to press F6 at the beginning to install 3rd party scsi drivers. It's a quick prompt, so keep your trigger finger handy.
Hope this helps!

Well it see's the adapter without a problem. I seem to have gotten past that now and the pc is currently showing me the windows 2000 setup screen. I'll skip the networking setup this time and see if goes through without a blue screen. However I'll have the blue screen error handy if it happens again.

Thanks
Gene

Gene, from what you are saying it looks like your window setup is not going to complete again unless you have a network card in your system (2000 server install).Disregard if you are not installing a server version. Also make sure you have a hub or other connecting devices to make the install think you really have a network in place.
