One of my Win2k servers is on the brink of complete failure and there isn't much I can do about it, yet. It's a Dell PowerEdge so I was on the phone today for a couple hours trying to figure out whether we have a bad controlller or disk(s). We found none of the hardware to be faulty but did find that the container, or array, status to be 'dead'. The only way out of this is to rebuild from parity. The rebuild was successful and @ this point I was still hopefull. My hope was stolen when Win2k Server blue screened (inaccessible boot device). I can't boot into safe mode. I can't run the repair function either because Win2k setup can't find any HD's installed on my system. I plan on calling Dell back tomorrow as it is time to go home now.....Just hoping some of you could offer some insight. I've got a PowerQuest image, but it's old. I was planning on taking a new image on Saturday because I had recently completed SMS and didn't want to be left hanging.... SQL is also on that machine!!! >:|

We've got a fairly complete back up of everything but SMS/SQL. Some of the files SQL/SMS uses are constantly in use so they don't get backed up.

I was going to try 'Last Known Good' but haven't got the balls to try it yet....guess I don't have much to lose @ this point anyway, right?

Is there anyway that you could hook up the drives in that system with your data to another machine and slave them to a master hd with win 2000? maybe that way you could at least get your data.
