Win2K3 Standard R2 to Enterprise

Is it possible to Upgrade a Windows 2003 Server Standard R2 to a Windows 2003 Server Enterprise (not R2) or does it have to be upgraded to Enterprise R2?

I did 2 upgrades from 2003 to Enterprise SP2 and they went very smoothly

OK, I tried this. I loaded a hard drive with Windows 2003 R2 Standard and then tried to upgrade to Windows 2003 Enterprise (not R2) and it told me it could not perform the upgrade because the existing version was newer than the one I was trying to install. So it looks like I have to go with Enterprise R2, if I can find it, otherwise I will have to go up to Windows 2008.
