Win2K W32Time

On a win2k server in an NT 4.0 domain, this message appears in the event log : "Warning Event 64 in the System log From w32time". My question is: can I safely turn this service off & manual startup if the authentication is done by the NT4 domain until we migrate to a win2k domain?
Thanks in advance for any help.
