WIN2K server with 2 NIC's, i setup this server as a VPN server.
Server belongs to a MS Domain and there a several more MS domain's in our network, all of them are in the Public IP range.
- first NIC - Public IP range (212.x.x.x) - of course this NIC is what is use for to establish a VPN connection.
- second nic - Private IP range (192.168.1.1) - added for to create a VPN solution with WIN2K Server.
My problem, when i make a VPN connection, i am with my VPN in the 192.168.1.x range and i am able to ping an PC in this IP range also name resolving is working (WINS), but i can't ping the 212.x.x.x range.
In My Network Places i see the other PC Stations in the 212.x.x.x network (this means that WINS is working), but i can't reach them!
I tested NAT and this is working! (i tested NAT to setup a PC in the 192.168.1.x range and ping the 212.x.x.x range, i am also able to ping
With the wizard setup, i choose "Remote access server" and NOT "Virtual Private Network (VPN) server" (when you choose VPN, Windows will install Packet Filters, for which you don't want! otherwise NAT don't work!)
I need to connect the Internet through the VPN connection!
I am aware of the option "Use Default gateway on remote network" in the VPN Dial-up adapter!! But i need to get on the internet through the VPN!
Any suggestions?
