I am of the opinion that a clean install is always better than an upgrade when it comes to Windows. But I am not here to debate that. What I need to know is this: If I buy the Windows 2000 Pro "full version" CD instead of the Windows 2000 Pro "upgrade" CD, can I still do an upgrade if I want to using the full version CD, or can you only do a clean install using the full version CD? Thanks.

You can use the "Full" Cd to do a Full install or just an Ugrade.

...But I agree, always go with the clean install

You can upgrade with the full version CD, provided that it is not an OEM copy. OEM copies can only be installed onto blank hard drives.

The OEM CD will have "OEM" or "Original Equipment Manufacturer" written on it, and the license sticker will have "For OEM Use only" written on it.

OEM software is for sale only with new equipment, and does not include support from Microsoft.

Don't even waste the time on an upgrade install. It just ends up as an additional step of the full install.

I agree, but because of certain circumstances, I might need to do an upgrade at first. I need options right now. Thanks for your input gang.
