Hello,

I have set up a home network between two pc's (one win2k pro and one winme) using a hub. I have thus far wired up the network and tested the wiring, and successfully ping'd both computers from each other.

I can transfer files from the me machine to the 2k machine easily and browse the machine and such. However, when I try to access the 2k machine with the me machine, I am graced with an error....."User account has expired"

In browsing this forum and others, I saw several places stating that if I created a user account on the 2k machine that matched the name/password of the login information for the me machine, then that would solve my problem. No avail.

My guest account is enabled....or at least I think.

It has a listing in the computer's user directory. I changed the name of the guest account to default so as to hopefully match up the computer login names. This results in no success.

create a user account in ME called administrator and use the same pw as your 2000 box. Make sure you log on as administrator... Now try to access it.

Rory and mhughes -

Thanks for your speedy response! I tried Rory's soloution and it worked. So I decided to do some searching into the problem with my "default" user on the 2k box. Turns out that the guest account was disabled. Thus the "user account expired" message was valid!

Thanks anyways
