Win2k locked up after Norton Live Update

I would appreciate help on this problem as it is very serious. I was running Live Update of Norton Internet Security and after it finished it asked to reboot the system. When it came back to the LOG ON TO WINDOWS screen both keyboard and mouse are locked (I can get to the hard drive through peer to peer networking). After discussions with Symantec, they claim it is not their problem as when I go to the SAFE mode, I still can not get past the LOG ON screen as it locks up.

Have you tried Last Known Good Config??
