I have suddenly started getting errors on my laptop, its Win2k SP3, with ALL the latest windows updates (which is what i expect to be the cause quite frankly) as i havent changed anything on my PC except do the windows updates.

I get the error when trying to access the control panel, or try to run explorer.exe or double click my computer, its just a nightmare.

People are saying in other threads, uninstall this uninstall that, BUT i cannot get to conrtol panel to add./remove anything, i feel so powerless.

This must be affecting so many people judging by other random threads, where people dont give enough detail or irrelavnt info.

Thanks for your time.

have you already tried to boot up in secured-mode (hit F8 while you see the boot-screen)?

perhapse you can uninstall the updates in this mode.

cheers

If you have another user setup, log in as the other user and try that. If not you can try to set one up using the cmd prompt.
