Got a server running win2003 standard server. I do not have the password for this server. It is not part of a domain. I have installed a paralell copy of win and have tried to use tools like cain&abel. Does anybody know of a quick way to gain access to a server like this?

I had a problem similar to this yesterday. Used a copy of Winternals (handy software to keep around if you are an admin) and that worked perfect or you can use which is a free solution. Doing a google search there are tons of third party software out there to change an unknown Windows password, some free some charge. Good luck!

Ok, so i finally got in. I tried various tool like cain&abel, offline nt password, and I even emailed Microsoft to see if I could get them to help. I am sure that the ERD Commander would have worked but I could not get my company to fork over the $$. But anyway I used the tool and it worked like a charm. I installed a parallel copy of windows and installed this tool and within min it had cracked the password.
