We are running NT 4 Server at my company with most users running NT 4, and some Win2000 Pro.

We have a new employee whose PC we were setting up with Win2000. Except we have one odd problem. She cannot log onto the domain under her username (domain cannot be found message), but I can login as the Administrator to the domain with no problem. We even tried logging in as a different user, but still no luck.

We double-checked the User/Domain Manager and nothings been changed.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Sorry if this is a bit vague, but I didn't personally setup her computer. However, all the basics have been double-checked.

Yes, she is not actually a new employee. She just got a new computer.

She use to be able to login just fine with her old computer.

Well, at least we have narrowed it down to this being a network issue with the Computer and nothing wrong with her username.

(1) Are you sure you are getting a network connection. Try going to a command line and typing ==>ipconfig /all Are you getting an IP Address?
(2) Try pinging to your router
(3) Check to make sure the protocols that you have setup on your other machines compare to this one (I.E - TCP/IP, NetBeui etc)
(4)Try Removing the computer from the domain from Server Manager on your NT4
(5) Add the computer name again in Server Manager
(6) From the Windows2000 Pro workstation try joining the domain again.

Hope this helps.

I know I am getting a network connection. I can login as the Administrator and browse the network just fine. But I will try your (4), (5), and (6). Unfortunately, I won't get the chance until Monday to do it. Thanks for the tips. I'll let you know the outcome.
