Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with a problem I encountered today. I was setting up a little peer to peer network for a customer. His number one computer he wants to keep using as the primary is running win98,the second one is running win 2000 pro. I checked the box in windows 2000 that indicated to assume that this person(which was administrator)has logged on to the computer..and I left the password field blank. When I restarted the windows 2000 computer is demanded a password in order to log in to the network, but, I didnt put one in...so how am I to know what it is?...this really has me stumped..I am trying to avoid formatting that system and starting over but I thought perhaps one of you may be able to help me out on this. I am thinking its trying to actually log in to the windows 98 computer..perhaps..btw on the windows 98 computer he logs in with his name and then a four digit password..Is the windows 2000 prompt wanting the name and password used on the windows 98 computer perhaps? Right now I am unable to even get into the OS at all..it wont let me pass that password screen. I tried disconnecting that computer from the network but the password and user name window still comes up and blocks me from starting the system.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
