I have a laptop I am trying to connect via wireless to our network.
I have other desktops that are able to connect to the wireless access point and access the network.
But it seems that no laptops can connect via the access point. If i plug them in directly to the network it works fine.

I get on the laptop signal strength excellent to good but no internet or browsing the network.

Check your WEP keys on the client. Do not use the passphrase generator if it exists, type in the WEP key values.

I have been putting in the entire WEP key.
I do get the icon in my task tray saying that my signal strenght is excellent and that i'm connected.
But i don't get assigned an ip address.

look like still not authenticated...

use a wep key generator,
make sure 128 bit
use ascii or binary

just in case typo, use copy/paste to put the key to laptop.

keep both ap and client the same settings,

one other thing is that do not use windows wireless manager, use manufacture's one.

good luck

If this was the case ... wouldn't everyone computer not be able to connect. It seems only the two laptops cannot get online or see the network.
