Win XP and Norton Internet Security 2005

Hi all,

I need some advice at trying to get Norton Internet Security 2005 up and running on my inlaws P.O.S Walmart HP computer. Anyhow it has XP and I've turned off the XP firewall and auto update, but the Norton software aborts the install program. There wasn't another anivirus program on this machine so I'm perplexed as to why I can't get Norton to install. Any suggestions? I was tempted to tell my inlaws to take back the Norton and just download a subscription to McAfee...but I guess the Norton software came from Wal-Mart too. Any help would be appreciated since I am a graphics person by trade and not an OS or NAV geek. One other thing is they are running DSL for their internet connection.

Actually, it does include Norton Antivirus.

What error message(s) does it give, and when?
We need more info about the problem to be able to help you.

Yes, Norton Antivirus is included in that package. Usually, the HP computer have McAfee pre installed with a 90 evaluation. Be sure to uninstall it before you install the Norton software.

Everything is running fine now, I took ths OS back about a week or so, blasted anything that may have interfered with the installation and it loaded up like a charm. Thanks for the replys.
