This is stumping me. My mother installed Quicken 2003 on her computer, a P2 300, and everything went OK until she tried to get it to connect to the Internet to update her investments and stuff. After a day, the program wouldn't even run normally, and now she can shut down the machine. She uninstalled Quicken and it's still won't shut down.

I went over there to see what was going on, and the instant before you'd think Windows would shut down, a blue screen pops up, but is gone before you can read it because the computer reboots itself instead of turning off. It doesn't seem to be a BSOD, but one of those "System is unstable" or something, because the flash of text is in the middle of the screen, not at the top.

Any suggestions? I can't find anything wrong, and reinstalling Windows on this machine will be a pain in the butt, involving taking the hard drive out of the machine and taking it to another (this is the one that wouldn't load Windows on it's own because of the P2 issue). Jennifer Sigman
